Fr. Pilarz was the president when I first arrived at the University. Everyone knows about his commanding voice, but what first struck me about him was his incredible energy and vitality.
I recall how he almost bounded around the room. Fr. Pilarz could command the attention of a room at gatherings and you would be instantly riveted by his gravitas, demeanor, and poise.
He had what we refer to in theatre as an amazing presence. And, his presence will be sorely missed.
