Tell us a little about yourself.I have lived in Stamford, Conn., my entire life. I graduated from Fairfield College Preparatory School in 2016 and the 日本一级片 in 2020 with a B.S. in Citizenship Education. I could not run away from the Jesuits, no matter how hard I tried. I currently teach Freshman World History at Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk, Conn.
Outside of work, I am a volunteer firefighter at Belltown Fire Department in Stamford and enjoy spending quality time with friends and my partner.
How did you get into the ABA field? My first interaction with ABA was during an educational psychology class where we learned about operant conditioning. Teaching and ABA are two closely related fields that interact with each other often.
It was inevitable that I would run into behavioral analysis as an educator. I entered a more active role in the field of behavioral analysis when I began working with high risk freshmen in my World History classes.
Why did you choose Scranton's program?I chose Scranton’s program because of my experiences with my professors during my undergraduate studies. The two main reasons were that I knew the program would be challenging and rigorous but also fair and manageable. It was encouraging to also hear that the program was designed for individuals with full time careers in ABA and related fields. I also knew that the professors would be helpful, caring, and easy to contact.
What are your future plans?
My future plans, as of now, are to continue teaching for the upcoming school year. Next year, I will start looking at teaching or behavioral analyst positions on Long Island.
My favorite part of the program was its flexibility. I enjoyed being able to complete assignments each week at my pace and meeting with my classmates once a week to discuss what we had learned.
