Why should people choose to attend the Rehabilitation Counseling program here at Scranton?“I have never felt more prepared and supported to leave his program (even though I wanted to stay forever) and start a dream job I have worked towards since an undergraduate student.”
What sets this program apart?
“The collaboration between the students and faculty is one that lasts a lifetime.“
What did you appreciate about the program?
“I appreciated the faculty's dedication to seeing the students grow into the best counselors they could be.“
How did it prepare you for your current role?
“The program’s assignments were practical and taught me the skills that I need to be successful in my career today.”
“Obtaining my M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University if Scranton is not something that I could have ever put a price on. This program helped me to become knowledgeable about the world of disability by pairing the classroom material with assignments that made everything come to life. I have been lucky enough to use the skills I developed throughout my course work in my job today.
Practicum is a huge part of growth in the program. The faculty provide feedback throughout your time as a student to make sure you are ready to take this on and move to the next step. During program you work on countless transferable skills applicable to all of the different jobs you can get upon completion of the program. The program provides the knowledge for students to get employed in many areas of Rehabilitation. The faculty do an amazing job with exposing us to those different areas through presentations from professionals in different areas. Through this exposure i developed my career goal of working as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with OVR.
Lastly, the CRC Exam....I felt that this program prepared be beyond what I could have imagine for this exam. It was definitely difficult, however, all of the criteria were things that were taught throughout the coursework here at Scranton. I know that this was the best program for me and hope that students continue to learn about this field and our program!"
