Service
One important way to enrich one’s overall college experience and to develop and test your language skills and knowledge of Latin American and Latinx Studies is to engage in service. There are numerous opportunities to perform service that requires knowledge of Latin American cultures, peoples, and languages in the greater Scranton area.

Finally, many LALS students engage with local Latinx communities through community-based learning courses, such as SPAN 335 Service and the Hispanic Community. The program also connects students with opportunities to support our Latinx neighbors, like the annual Welcoming Scranton fair, and organizes events, like the South Side Restaurant Tour.
