The Fitness Challenge- A Campus Tradition
For almost two decades, the Center for Health Education & Wellness has been proudly organizing our highly anticipated annual 4-week Fitness Challenge, held every spring. In 2024, we were thrilled to witness an overwhelming response as over 1,110 enthusiastic campus members registered to participate in the 4-week Challenge. Students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to join. Registration for 2025 will open in January. Participants complete the Fitness Challenge and earn a t-shirt by exercising at least 150 minutes per week as recommenced by the CDC and submitting a Weekly Fitness Log. Participants are entered to win weekly raffle prizes such as gift cards, fitness equipment, and apparel.
Fitness Challenge 101
Complete the Fitness Challenge
To complete the Fitness Challenge and receive a FREE Fitness Challenge Athletic Shirt & Qualify for Weekly Prizes you must:
- Complete 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity each week. This is the minimum amount of aerobic exercise recommended by the CDC for healthy adults 18-64 years old.
- Each Monday you will receive an email from The Center for Health Education & Wellness that contains a link to your Weekly Fitness Log, which you will use to track the exercise you completed during the prior week. Certify you completed 150 minutes of physical activity on your online Weekly Fitness Log before 1pm every Tuesday during the Challenge. By submitting your log, you will automatically qualify for weekly raffle prize drawings.
- You can not submit a Fitness Log for a team member- each person is responsible for submitting their own Fitness Log. If you do not complete 150 minutes of exercise, do not submit a Weekly Fitness Log for that week and try again the next week.
- In order to complete the Fitness Challenge and earn a shirt, you must complete 150 minutes of exercise and submit your Weekly Fitness Log on time for 3 out of the 4 weeks of the challenge. Weekly Wellness Logs will not be accepted after 1pm each Thursday. You must also complete a brief online Final Program Survey at the end of the Fitness Challenge
Individual & Team Prizes
Prizes: Gift cards and fitness-related items will be raffled each week during the Fitness Challenge. Examples include prizes like Yeti tumblers, yoga mats and gift cards from Amazon,Dicks's Sporting Goods, etc.

INDIVIDUAL PRIZES
- Everyone must register individually to be part of the Fitness Challenge. Even if you have joined a team, you are also participating as an individual in order to earn your Fitness Challenge shirt.
- You are responsible for submitting your own Weekly Fitness Log by Tuesday before 1pm each week, which will automatically qualify you to be eligible for the individual weekly raffle prize drawing.
- Submit at least 3 out of the 4 Weekly Fitness logs to earn a FREE T-shirt!
TEAM PRIZES
- Registering as a team will allow students, faculty, and staff to participate as an individual to earn weekly prizes AND as a team to earn weekly team prizes.
- Weekly Fitness logs will need to be submitted individually by ALL team members each week.
- As a team member, when you submit your individual weekly log you will qualify for the weekly individual raffle prizes AND if all of your teammates submit their logs you will also qualify for a weekly raffled TEAM prize.
- *If all members for a team do not submit their individual weekly log, the team will not qualify for the weekly TEAM raffle prize, but individual team members will still qualify for individual weekly raffle prize.
- As a team member, when you submit your individual weekly log you will qualify for the weekly individual raffle prizes AND if all of your teammates submit their logs you will also qualify for a weekly raffled TEAM prize.
- Teams who successfully have all members of their team complete their fitness logs for all 4 weeks of the challenge will be entered to win a TEAM GRAND PRIZE.
2024 Shirt & Size Chart

FAQs
- Do I need to submit exactly what I did for my 150 minutes of physical activity?
- Nope! We encourage you to track your 150 minutes of physical activity on your own in a journal or on your phone. On the Fitness Challenge log sent out in an email every Monday you are only required to VERIFY that you have completed 150 minutes by clicking the button. It’s the honors system folks and we appreciate your integrity!
- What happens if I miss a week?
- Life happens, we might be too busy to find time for exercise, and sometimes we even miss emails in our inbox. Don’t fret; completing 3 out of the 4 logs still earns your dri-fit t-shirt!
- How do I submit a log?
- Check your Scranton email! Every Monday afternoon of the challenge, you will receive an email like this one that includes fitness information, inspiration, and your weekly log. Click the link and fill it out before that Tuesday at 1 pm.
- Do I still earn a t-shirt if my team members forget to fill out a log?
- Don’t sweat it! As long as YOU fill out YOUR OWN log for 3 of the 4 weeks, you still earn your t-shirt. Teams are for extra motivation during the challenge, so encourage your team members to do their best, stay active, and fill out their logs so you can be entered into extra raffles!
